Our time together

Meet fellow Democrats for a drink, a meal or casual conversation at the Lake of the Woods Democratic Club’s bi-monthly Social Hour on July 11 at Clearwater Grill restaurant.

The club’s Steering Committee has designated alternative monthly meetings throughout the year for an informal evening social gathering instead of our usual formal daytime meetings. Expectations are that some folks who cannot attend daytime meetings will want to join us for some light-hearted fun.

The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the back upper dining room near the bar. The space has been reserved for club members during this time.

Because of the size of our group, the restaurant’s management has asked that we order food from a limited menu. Our choices will be these three:  cranberry pecan salad, a burger, or crispy chicken sandwich.  Sides will be fries or applesauce.

Sure, you can discuss politics if you like, but there will be no agenda and no pressure.

More formal club meetings will continue to be held in alternative months at 1:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at the LOW Community Center. Always check the club’s web site for up-to-date information on club meetings and activities.

Enjoying socializing

More than 40 people attended the first Democrats Social Hour March 14 at the Clearwater Grill restaurant. Candidates for the party’s nomination to the 7th Congressional District seat mingled with voters at the event sponsored by the Lake of the Woods Democratic Club. Similar events will be held throughout the year. When Democrats get together good conversation and good times happen!
