As of July 1 2020, all registered voters in Virginia are eligible to vote early in person or absentee by mail for any reason. No excuse is required.
Before you go to vote early in person:
- Check your registration and make sure everything is correct on the Virginia Department of Elections Citizen Portal.
- Have your acceptable ID with you. This includes voter card, driver’s license, state ID card, and more.
- Check out the sample ballots so you can get in, vote, and get moving safely. (These will be posted once available.)
There are several ways to vote absentee by mail:
- Use the Citizen Portal via the Virginia Department of Elections to submit the application electronically
- Call our office at 540-672-5262 to have the Vote By Mail application mailed to you
- Print the Vote By Mail Application and send it to us by email, fax (540)672-4872, or mail at the address below
- Military and Overseas Voters can also use the Federal Post Card Application
