The first Juneteenth national holiday was observed by the LOW Democratic Club with a festive picnic at the LOW Community Center. The event included an informative presentation by Lois Powell and Gerri Colucci (above) on the meaning of Juneteenth and remarks by Annette Hyde, candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates from the 30th District.
